Do all browsers support it?

Is the quality loss noticeable?
You are chaining two lossy compressions, so technically there is degradation. At the quality this tool uses it is not perceptible on a normal photo at screen size.
Is WebP or AVIF better?
AVIF compresses better still, by roughly another 20 %. But encoding AVIF in the browser is not possible today, and support is slightly narrower. WebP is the sensible balance right now.
Does it work for images with transparency?
WebP does support an alpha channel. But a JPG source never has one, so there is no transparency to preserve in this particular conversion.
