Rasterising is not extracting

JPG or PNG?
JPG if the PDF is mostly photographic or you want light files. PNG if there is small text, fine lines or charts — JPG creates halos around sharp edges.
Can I edit the text afterwards?
No. The conversion produces images: text becomes pixels. If you want to edit the content, use the PDF to Word tool.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. A scanned PDF already contains images, so the conversion simply extracts them as it rasterises each page.
